EMBA Global Classes Unite in London

Written by Matthew Foster

Our EMBA Global programme is a truly global experience and we recently welcomed both the Asia and Americas & Europe strands together for a memorable class week here in London.

The EMBA Global programme brings together three leading Business Schools – London Business School, Columbia Business School and Hong Kong University – and draws students from more than 35 countries and over 60 cities. The students come from a wide range of roles and industries, including manufacturing, entertainment, pharmaceuticals, finance, and charities.

We began by welcoming our Asia cohort to their first class week in London with a Q&A session with current student Mary-Leigh Mackie (EMBAG2018) and alumnus Pablo Gomez Olmedo Albarran (EMBAGA2015). This was followed by an address from our new Dean, François Ortalo-Magné. Dean François drew on the research of several members of our world-class faculty to draw conclusions about leadership in a modern global context, and how the EMBA Global programme can help current leaders have true impact.

As the week progressed, the EMBA Global Americas & Europe and Asia cohorts mixed and mingled gaining invaluable networking opportunities with their colleagues from across the globe, as well as forging new friendships and bonds that will continue to grow throughout and beyond the programme.

A fantastic barbeque on the front lawn of our central London campus was the centre piece to the week – an event the great British weather resisted the urge to rain upon!

As their time with the Schools progress, the classes will continue their globe-trotting, completing class weeks in New York and Hong Kong, as well as their Global Business Assignments taking them on immersive experiences in further locations.

Applications for the May 2018 intake of both the EMBA Global Americas & Europe and EMBA Global Asia classes are now open; further details can be found on our website.
